- The degree program provides students with in-depth knowledge of policy trends and innovative practices in the mental health field as it relates to children, youth and their families.
- With a strong focus on early intervention as a preventative measure, the program’s core courses develop skills, knowledge and awareness of child and adolescent psychological development.
- Emphasis is placed on research methods, design and evaluation related to child and adolescent behavioral and developmental health.
- Under the supervision of department faculty, students participate in specialized research that furthers their knowledge in their chosen field.
- Graduates are able to contribute to strategies that promote inclusion and protection of children and emerging adults in a variety of agencies or to pursue doctoral studies in related fields.
